In the heat of summer, barely anyone in DC thinks about being outdoors for any length of time. The best part of that is we get to see the fabulous interiors of the grand wedding venues in this city! Arianne and Daniel’s wedding at the Carnegie Institute certainly didn’t disappoint. As a nice offset to the heat, their wedding colors embraces pale hues of whites and touches of blush. Arianne’s bridal bouquet was designed using ivory and white garden roses, dahlia, stock, and spray roses accented with pale pink Sweet Eskimo roses. The bridesmaids’ bouquets featured similar textures but in a clean white and ivory palette. For the groom and groomsmen boutonnieres, a classic rose accented with seeded eucalyptus was used.
The wedding ceremony took place in the rotunda at the Carnegie, with the massive doors as the backdrop. Creating a focal point for the ceremony, two striking and modern arrangement sat on pedestals. Each design featured a tall fluted glass vase topped with an expressive design of white and blush pink dendrobium orchids.
The couple opted for a cocktail reception, so flowers provided subtle pops of color and texture. The ceremony arrangements moved to tables (an advantage of having ceremony and reception in one place!), while the remaining tables featured wedding table centerpiece consisting of a silver mercury julep cup with a simple pouf of white hydrangea. Bridesmaids bouquets were placed in vases on the balance of the tables.
