Wedding ceremony in Astor Terrace at St. Regis DC

Step into a world of whimsy and enchantment as we delve into the captivating details of a breathtaking wedding held at the prestigious St. Regis in DC. With a focus on creating a magical atmosphere, this whimsical celebration for Katie and Doug unfolded amidst an abundance of exquisite floral designs. Let’s take a closer look at the floral masterpieces that adorned this unforgettable event.

For our lovely bride, we crafted an elegant, French hand-tied bouquet in classic whites and greens. Overflowing with lush plumosa and umbrella ferns, fragrant eucalyptus, and ruscus foliages, this greenery-heavy bouquet set the stage for romance. Accented with ivory garden roses, white lisianthus, and purple-throated Picasso mini-calla lilies, this bouquet was a true vision of beauty. To complete the look, we wrapped the stems with luxurious ivory double-faced satin ribbon, adding a touch of sophistication.

As guests entered the Astor Terrace for the ceremony, they were greeted by two striking designs on pedestals. Designed in elegant white urns, these arrangements featured tall branches of camellia foliage, creating a lush and captivating backdrop. To add a whimsical and ethereal feel, delicate sprinklings of baby’s breath were incorporated throughout the greenery, evoking a sense of enchantment and romance.

Centered on the escort card table, a glass urn took center stage. With a focus on simplicity and expression, this design featured a beautiful arrangement of massed baby’s breath. The delicate white blooms created an airy and dreamy atmosphere, captivating the guests as they discovered their assigned seats.

The reception tables were transformed into a floral wonderland. Half of the tables showcased stunning white demi footed bowls brimming with a lush composition of camellia, eucalyptus, oregonia, ruscus, and fern foliage. These vibrant greens were beautifully complemented by the delicate beauty of Queen Anne’s lace and ivory spray roses. To add a touch of whimsy, the bride provided a trio of blue and white ceramic bud vases from the bride’s home country, creating a delightful contrast for the remaining tables, each paired with a collection of glass cylinder vases, each with a floating candle. To enhance the organic feel, loose greenery was artfully arranged around the vases, adding a natural and enchanting element to the tablescapes. The warm glow of the candles, combined with the lush greenery, set a romantic ambiance that captivated guests throughout the evening.

Katie and Doug’s St. Regis DC wedding was a true organic and floral wonderland, with every detail meticulously designed to create a whimsical and enchanting atmosphere. From the elegant bridal bouquet to the dramatic ceremony designs and the captivating reception arrangements, each floral masterpiece added a touch of magic to the celebration. The combination of classic whites and greens, along with whimsical accents, brought the bride’s vision to life and created a truly unforgettable experience. This wedding at the St. Regis DC will forever be etched in the hearts of the couple and their guests as a testament to the beauty and allure of a truly whimsical affair.

Stuck on your floral color palette? Don’t stress - we’ve got you covered! Choosing colors for your wedding can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Here’s three easy tips to get started:

1. Look in your closet. Seriously! You know more about color theory than you think. Some colors just click together - and click with you! Think about the colors you wear & love.

2. Grab a color wheel for inspiration. Play around with ideas. Mix and match until you see a palette that makes your heart skip a beat. Need to see more colors? Paint swatches can help make the process visual.

3. Build out your palette. All colors don’t have to be in your flowers only. Think of flowers, linens, paper products, even candles as your cast. Once you have 2-3 main colors, layer in complementary tones to add depth. Love blush? Add mauve and peach for a romantic vibe!
