Kristin and Josh’s spring Alexandria wedding was largely a dry day but for that one moment of rain that allowed for an adorable umbrella photo. Nothing could dampen the sweet scheme of ivories, peaches and greens – soft and delicate like spring. Kristin’s bouquet featured some of our spring favorites – green parrot tulips, white lilac and ranunculus – rounded out with ivory Vendela roses, ivory spray roses, and peach Juliet garden roses. Josh sported a white ranunculus boutonniere finished with loops of bear grass.
If you haven’t seen the interior of St. Paul’s, it’s a stunner. Just see below. (And of course, we equally adore the happy couple getting married within.)
Following the ceremony, the wedding party explored the grounds at Mount Vernon for photos. Perfectly matched for a spring Mount Vernon Inn wedding, the bridesmaids bouquets featured vibrant peaches that popped against their soft mint dresses. Peach roses, stock, and parrot tulips were paired with white sweet pea and green viburnum – looking very pale here as opposed to the usual lime hue it was late in the season.
For the reception, in a nod to the colonial flavor of Mt. Vernon, glass hurricanes were ringed with wreaths of antique green hydrangea, peach stock and spray roses, ivory roses and white ranunculus accented with variegated ivy. For the longer tables, silver mint julep cups held lush design of the same complement of flowers. The cake was crowned and accented with a similar array of blooms, perfectly styled for a spring Mount Vernon Inn wedding
