Spring Dupont Circle Hotel Wedding

Spring Wedding at Dupont Circle Hotel

Lush green, luxe gold, and soft pops of blush and white created a breathtaking backdrop for Laura and Grant’s spring Dupont Circle Hotel wedding. The timeless color palette and a bold mix of blooms brought their vision to life. Laura’s bridal bouquet was a stunner, combining white peonies, ivory garden roses, ivory spray roses, white ranunculus, white sweet pea and peach stock, accented with a mix of camellia and umbrella fern. For her maid of honor, we created a complementary bouquet with the same flowers and hues.

Cherry Blossom Season Ceremony

Laura and Grant’s spring Dupont Circle Hotel wedding ceremony was absolutely gorgeous, with its chivari chairs adorned with delicate posies of peach stock, ivory roses, green hypericum berries, and a finishing touch of fern and salal. For the ceremony area’s focal point, we provided two striking altar arrangements of cherry blossom branches, white French tulips, green viburnum, white snapdragons, white dendrobium orchids, and peach stock, accented with lemon leaf foliage and sword fern.

Elegant Reception

Welcoming the guests to the spring Dupont Circle Hotel reception was a dramatic arrangement on the escort table. We loved the effect created by displaying white hydrangea, white stock, ivory roses and spray roses, green-white ornamental kale, green hypericum berries and green viburnum, with accents of green Gypsy Trick dianthus, white snapdragons, white dendrobium orchids, peach stock, lemon leaf and sword fern foliage in a tall, gold mercury glass vase. Laura and Grant’s head table was truly a place of honor, with a lush garland of lemon leaf foliage that cascaded to the floor on both sides of the table. Ivory roses and spray roses, green hypericum berries, green echevaria and peach stock added color and texture, while warm candlelight twinkled from glass-encased pillar candles of varying heights. Guest tables sparkled with one of two elegant and unique centerpieces. For half the tables, we displayed a cluster of gold mint julep cups of varying heights, holding petite yet bountiful designs of white hydrangea, green-white parrot tulips, green hypericum berries, white ranunculus and peach stock with camellia foliage. The remaining tables featured gold Revere bowls, showcased white hydrangea, peach stock, white anemone, ivory spray roses, green-white parrot tulips, Gypsy Trick dianthus, green hypericum berries, and green echevaria with camellia foliage and umbrella fern. This exquisite confection from Buttercream Bakeshop didn’t need much to dress it up, but our festive flourish of green and white blooms was (dare we say it?) the icing on the cake!

Laura and Grant’s spring Dupont Circle Hotel wedding celebration was a pleasure to be part of, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness together!

We call it the creep…

Everyone talks about the rising cost of flowers, but there’s another story behind the numbers: time. Over the years, wedding timelines have stretched. First looks, detail shots, getting-ready portraits, ceremony and reception setups starting hours earlier than before, and more complex with event breakdowns. Florists are often still paid by the piece, not by the hour, yet the hours have multiplied.

What was once a 2 to 4 hour delivery day has quietly turned into a 12 to 16 hour production days with setup, standby, and late-night breakdowns. And flowers are still perishable, so they cannot sit out waiting for the photography timeline to catch up.

When couples ask why flowers cost more now, this is part of the answer. It is not just about stems or supply chains. It is the labor, the logistics, and the reality that perfection takes time, often a lot more than it used to.

Did you know that baby’s breath can be a showstopper all on its own? 🌟

At Meaghan & David’s Willard Hotel wedding, we used this delicate bloom to create everything from airy, elevated centerpieces to rings of the tiny flowers to circle candles and lush runners on the head table. The result? A look that’s both ethereal and elegant, proving that baby’s breath can be more than just a filler flower. It’s a versatile, often budget-friendly option that brings a soft, romantic vibe to any wedding. Who’s ready to fall in love with this understated beauty? 😍
