There are events that feel like a gathering… and then there are those that feel like a moment. Société Privée D.C.’s recent luncheon at The Dupont Circle Hotel was very much the latter.
Set in the Foxhall Room, the space was transformed into a study in restraint and refinement. One long table for twelve, an intentional choice that immediately shifted the energy from “event” to “conversation.” This wasn’t about spectacle for spectacle’s sake. It was about connection, proximity, and creating a shared visual experience that felt elevated but entirely approachable.
Our role was to design a single, statement centerpiece, something that would anchor the table without overwhelming it. Inspired by a vibrant citrus palette of chartreuse, orange, and golden tones, we translated that energy into a quieter, more editorial expression through florals in white. We leaned into spring, with a profusion of delicate white sweet pea, reflexed tulips, green viburnum and classic flowers like Playa Blanca roses and white mini-calla lilies. Play green anthurium danced above the flowers, adding a modern edge. Textured green containers took the design out of the ordinary, and the addition of cut and whole citrus took the tablescape to another level. The result was layered, textural, and sculptural, a design that felt modern yet timeless, allowing the fashion-forward palette to live in the surrounding details rather than the flowers themselves.
With Persephone Malaya of Media Socialites leading the conversation, the table became more than a place setting. It became a backdrop for ideas, collaboration, and the kind of dialogue that defines the luxury wedding industry in D.C. As Société Privée continues to bring together some of the most thoughtful planners and creatives in the region, we’re honored to contribute to the atmosphere that makes these gatherings feel so distinctly special, where every detail, down to a single centerpiece, plays a role in shaping the experience.
