Ann and Matthew couldn’t have asked for a more perfect spring day for their rustic spring wedding this past April at Adelphi Mill. The weather gods truly smiled on them with blue skies, not a rain cloud in sight, and gorgeous temperatures for their outdoor ceremony. Ann looked simply stunning in her lace strapless gown.
Ann’s bouquet of roses, tulips, and lisianthus in romantic shades of lavender and purple were paired with herbal lavender and fiddlehead fern curls for an organic and wooded touch. Matt’s boutonniere was the perfect match, designed using a lavender rose accented with lavender and fiddlehead fern curls. The wedding party’s flowers continued the soft, spring lavender hues, using roses and tulips – complementing but not competing with the shades and textures of Ann’s bouquet.
The rustic spring wedding ceremony took place in a wooded grove on the grounds. Ann and Matthew spent the month leading up to the wedding crafting paper cranes in shades of blue, silver and white, some of which were used to decorate the rustic and natural focal point fashioned from curly willow branches. The tables for the reception featured a classic, purple pin tuck linen, which provided a rich, colorful backdrop for the simple and rustic elegance of mason jars that held simple arrangements of hydrangea and tulips in green and white. A whimsical canopy of paper lanterns and paper crane garlands suspended from the ceiling finished the look inside the Mill.
