Romantic Capitol View at 400 Wedding

Twinkle lights cast a magical glow for Capitol View at 400 wedding

Texture and romantic burgundy tones abound in Rachel and Andrew’s romantic Capitol View at 400 wedding! We are excited to share the classic rooftop affair at this timeless Washington, DC wedding venue.

Rachel and Andrew were married in front of close friends and family on a beautiful fall day. Rachel and her bridesmaids both carried richly textured bouquets featuring the best of fall – dahlias, roses, garden roses, astilbe, and astrantia in burgundies and whites finished with eucalyptus foliages. Classic rose boutonnieres graced the men’s lapels.

Strands of eucalyptus accented the welcome mirror that greeted guests as they arrived, and put a finishing touch to candles along the walkway. Flanked by two stunning and organic designs atop pedestals, and bridesmaids in rich burgundy gowns the pair exchanged vows in front of close friends and family. The two lush designs featured a rich array of lemon leaf, eucalyptus, rustics, camellia and myrtle foliages.

We love the metallic accents that accompanied the elegant decor of the romantic Capitol View at 400 wedding reception. Gold cylinder vases were filled with hydrangea and roses in white with rich burgundy coming through in roses, dahlias, safari sunset and astilbe. Burgundy taper candles set in gold candlesticks and accompanied by glass enclosed pillar candles and ringed by eucalyptus foliage were on the remaining tables.

It was a pleasure bringing Rachel and Andrew’s fall wedding vision to life!

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
