Regal Purple and Red Wedding

Regal Purple and Red Wedding

Congress, the White House, political appointments, local politics – without a doubt these influences make Washington, DC an undeniably political town. The wedding buttons with the celebration’s colors were an apt and playful twist for the event. We vote for Rachel and William!

Rachel and William’s wedding took place at the Hotel Monaco in Washington, DC, nestled in Penn Quarter. The flowers encompassed rich and regal reds and purples. Rachel carried a bouquet of deep burgundy ‘Black Magic’ roses and dahlia, red spray roses, ranunculus, and ‘James Storei’ orchids, and purple stock, lisianthus, dendrobium orchids, and mini-calla lilies finished with trailing red hanging amaranthus. The groom’s boutonniere featured red mokara orchid blossoms.

The colors popped elegantly against the black bridesmaids dresses, their flowers consisting of red roses, dahlia, spray roses, and dendrobium and mokara orchids, lisianthus and stock in shades of red and purple.

The ceremony took place beneath a natural white silk crepe chuppah. Delicate strands of alternating red and purple orchid blossoms on monofilament accented the line of the curtain panels at the entrance.

Beneath the dramatic, suspended red lamp shade at the entrance to the ballroom sat a glass cylinder vase filled with pomegranates and topped with red and purple flowers. Purple and red hydrangea, stock, orchids, lisianthus, roses, spray roses and dahlia were finished with red hanging amaranthus and seeded eucalyptus foliage for texture and movement.

Lighting in the ballroom created a cool, modern aesthetic against which the combination of tall and low centerpieces provided a modern elegance with a classic twist.

Half the tables featured tall pilsner-style glass vases with starbursts of red mokara orchids and purple dendrobium orchids. Orchids were submerged within the vase. Cranberries filled the low square glass vases topped with purple and red orchids. Bud vases of red and purple flowers as well as the bouquets filled the bookcases around the room.

MOODY ROMANCE ✨ Daryn & Kelsey’s wedding last weekend was the definition of moody romance. A room glowing in candlelight, black linens setting the stage for elevated greenery hedges kissed 💋 with baby’s breath and dreamy hanging glass globes cradling flickering votives. Black and deep plum tapers paired with glass chimneys added a touch of drama, while the sweetheart table gave our couple the place of honor, accented with lush greenery and flowers in soft mauve and blush.

Every detail felt like it was straight out of a modern fairytale. 🖤 🤍 ✨ What’s your favorite part of this stunning set up?
