Potomac View Terrace Wedding with Shades of Blue

Potomac View Terrace Wedding with Shades of Blue

Potomac View Terrace wedding ceremony in Washington, DC

“Simple and romantic” were our guiding principles in designing the florals for Kelly and Cito’s wedding at Potomac View Terrace at the American Pharmacists Association. What resulted was a fresh, soft and utterly timeless aesthetic. With a palette of soft blues, grays, greens, gold and white – and an absolutely gorgeous setting – we couldn’t love this event more!

A Palette with Shades of Blue

Shades of blue was an important element in the design of the flowers. In nature, there aren’t many options, but come fall, we have at least a few more. Cornflower was one of our key blue flowers, as well as navy blue privet berries, slate blue thistle, and the navy center of anemone. Kelly’s elegant bridal bouquet showcased white roses and anemone, accented with gray succulents, dusty miller, and eucalyptus, while shades of blue cornflower, privet berry and blue thistle to finish the design. Each of her bridesmaids carried lush bouquets of white roses and anemone, dusty miller and eucalyptus foliage, and touches of cornflower and blue thistle. To match, Cito’s  boutonnière featured a white rose with seeded eucalyptus and blue thistle. The remaining boutonnieres were designed using a simple white rose accented with eucalyptus.

At the reception, guest tables featured matte gold cube vases filled with a textured, loose mix of blooms in shades of white and ivory with touches of green, gray and blue. Flowers included white hydrangea, white stock, ivory roses and spray roses, blue thistle and blue cornflower accented with loose seeded eucalyptus and dusty miller foliage. Two similar low arrangements anchored the couple’s escort card table. Positioned along the length of the head table were a series of gold trimmed vases, which graciously contained the bridal and bridesmaids’ bouquets. A festive design of wedding flowers in shades of blue crowned the top of the couple’s white wedding cake. Additional clusters of flowers adorned each of the tiers.

MOODY ROMANCE ✨ Daryn & Kelsey’s wedding last weekend was the definition of moody romance. A room glowing in candlelight, black linens setting the stage for elevated greenery hedges kissed 💋 with baby’s breath and dreamy hanging glass globes cradling flickering votives. Black and deep plum tapers paired with glass chimneys added a touch of drama, while the sweetheart table gave our couple the place of honor, accented with lush greenery and flowers in soft mauve and blush.

Every detail felt like it was straight out of a modern fairytale. 🖤 🤍 ✨ What’s your favorite part of this stunning set up?
