When we met with Catherine and her mother Molly (and let’s not forget Drew!), we knew immediately the city chic vibe for their Park Hyatt DC wedding was right in our wheelhouse. And it was spectacular to bring to life! We are always fortunate to have clients who love flowers as much as we do and appreciate how strategic flower elements can truly make the event come together.
The Park Hyatt DC wedding day began with portraits around Georgetown University. The ceremony took place at Georgetown’s Dahlgren Chapel. Catherine’s bouquet was the perfect bridal accessory, designed using white peonies, roses and mini-calla lilies. Clad in stunning navy dresses, her bridesmaids carried fully and open Tibet white roses.
The reception followed at the hotel, and a Park Hyatt DC wedding is like no other. I think Sinatra must cried tears at how stylish the ballroom looked, with a black-and-white checkerboard dance floor and a gorgeous design of flowers in front of the band. Talk about a wow moment! A long head table sat across from the band, simply dressed in a greenery garland and lots and LOTS of candles! The remaining tables featured gold compotes with a timeless design of white hydrangea, roses, stock, and touches of greenery, both on the round tables and interspersed with candles on the two long family tables flanking the dance floor. While the floral palette was subtle and classic, it allowed the other details to really stand out – like the beautiful dishes the bride chose for the Park Hyatt DC wedding table settings.
Working with Catherine, Drew and their families was such an honor. It’s hard to put into words sometimes how much we appreciate having wonderful clients with such an amazing sense of style!
