Modern Mitzvah at Dockmaster’s Building

Modern Mitzvah at Dockmaster’s Building

We recently had the pleasure of designing a stunning modern mitzvah at the Dockmaster’s Building in Washington, DC. Bar and bat mitzvahs embody journeys of tradition, family, and personal growth. It’s always an honor to design floral arrangements that capture the essence of the family’s milestone. Caroline’s celebration was a perfect blend of sophistication and contemporary style, featuring a chic black and white palette that left a lasting impression on all the guests.

The Dockmaster’s Building in Washington, DC, provided a stunning setting for this modern mitzvah. Its contemporary architecture and waterfront views added to the overall ambiance, making it a memorable location for this sophisticated celebration. The combination of the venue’s modern design and our elegant floral arrangements created a truly unforgettable event.

The choice of a black and white theme for this mitzvah created a timeless and elegant statement. The dining table linens featured a bold black and white pattern and paired with white china, black napkins and custom black menu cards, set the stage for a modern and sophisticated event. The striking contrast provided the perfect backdrop for our floral designs, which were meticulously crafted to enhance the overall aesthetic. It was the perfect choice for the Dockmaster’s Building with its floor-to-ceiling windows and waterfront location.

The centerpieces were the highlight of the dinner. The length of each table was accented with a series of sleek black vases filled with pristine white roses, creating a clean and elegant look. The black vases added a touch of modernity and sophistication, while the white roses brought a sense of tradition and grace. The arrangements perfectly captured the essence of a modern mitzvah, balancing simplicity with luxury.

White roses were chosen as the signature flower for the mitzvah. Their classic beauty and timeless elegance made them the ideal choice for this special event. The white roses not only complemented the black and white theme but also added a touch of luxury and refinement to the decor.

Scenes from holiday pasts and present. While December tends to be a low volume time for weddings, we love the range of things we have gotten to do, from inviting the community into our studio for wreath workshops to helping businesses and hotels decorate with garland, trees and more for the holidays. Do you have a favorite way to decorate? (Spoiler: we loved evergreening that sheep 🐑)

We will be closing soon for a much needed holiday break. See you in the new year!
