We delight in our small weddings just as much as the large. Even though these three spring micro weddings were small, they certainly packed a punch in style!
Tabard Inn
Rebecca and Matt’s wedding at the Tabard Inn in Washington, DC had some beautiful off-beat elements – a small ceremony, a brunch reception, a short wedding dress from Etsy [with a pink petticoat!], and freshly baked donuts instead of a cake. When it comes to micro wedding, we love the Tabard Inn. Located in Dupont Circle, the venue boasts an eclectic yet refined atmosphere and is perfect for anyone seeking a European-style oasis on American soil. Using the private event space on the second floor of the Inn, their intimate dinner party featured one long table with designs of green-white parrot tulips, light pink ranunculus, green hypericum berries, and green hydrangea. Rebecca carried a charming bouquet of spring flowers in white and green with a pop of light pink ranunculus. Her bridesmaid carried a bouquet of similar blooms in pink. And to finish Matt’s stylish seersucker suit, he wore a white cymbidium orchid boutonniere.

Alexandria Athenaeum
When it comes to micro weddings in Old Town Alexandria, the Athenaeum’s greek revival building can’t be beat for uniqueness. The Athenaeum is a gallery of fine arts and a performance venue in Alexandria, Virginia, United States. It has also been home to the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association since 1964. Deanna and Mike’s wedding featured many of our spring favorites – anemone, viburnum, hyacinth, ranunculus and tulips. The It was complete chance that the art in the space that week was floral in nature, but the floral prints in the background really made the ceremony.

Archer Hotel
Hotels aren’t often a first choice for micro weddings, but the boom in boutique hotels has helped to fix that. Lauren and Joe’s micro wedding at the Archer Hotel, formerly the Lorien Hotel. featured a beautiful red-black-and-white motif. The Archer Hotel is situated in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. From rooftop spaces to private terraces, the property is a great spot for a small guest count. Lauren carried a classic white bouquet that included lily of the valley, a flower that was particularly special to her, with her shoes bringing in a festive pop of red! We used a motif from their invitation to create a custom wrap around the centerpiece vases, each of which held a monochromatic design of red roses.
