Isobel and Brian’s wedding took place in early April, the very start of cherry blossom season in Washington. It’s a magical time of year for a wedding, as the blossoms hold a delicate and ethereal presence uniquely available for one short time of each year. We love the modern spring wedding interpretation our couple brought to their festivities.
Isobel carried a beautiful and classic bouquet of white roses, white mini-calla lilies, and white phalaenopsis orchids accented with silver-hued dusty miller. Brian wore a matching phalaenopsis orchid accented with dusty miller. The bridesmaids carried lush bouquets of white peonies (not pictured).
The ceremony took place at the Friends Meeting House of Washington, which is marked with an in-the-round set up of wood pews. To add a touch of simple romance, tall glass cylinder vases of varying heights were lined up on a back pew while pillows in ivories and browns added a personal touch to the set up.
A dramatic design of pink and white cherry blossom branches greeted guests on the escort card table, the first thing they would see as they arrived at the Metropolitan Club for the reception.
The mix of tall and low designs on the reception tables presented a classic and yet modern elegance. Tall glass cylinder vases held white cherry blossom branches while low glass flinders held similar flowers to the bridal bouquet – white roses, calla lilies, and phalaenopsis orchids accented with dusty miller. For the cake, phalaenopsis blossoms cascaded effortlessly down the tiers on one side, a simple modern spring wedding statement piece.
