Venue Spotlight: Meadowlark Botanical Garden

winter meadowlark ceremony

Continuing in our series of venue spotlights, we are venturing outside of Washington, DC this week. Just outside the hustle and bustle of the city, in Vienna, Virginia, is a beautiful glass atrium nestled in Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. The venue is in equal parts stunning and unique.

About

Meadowlark is one of few venues where you can be surrounded by plants and flowers, a babbling stream, and live trees laced in twinkle lights – all while being protected by a massive glass-walled atrium. If that’s not dreamy enough, the venue also features exposed brick walls, a terrace that looks out onto the gardens, and gorgeous gardens. It is the perfect place to dance the night away. While most ceremonies take place on the terrace, we have had a few smaller weddings make use of the gazebo for their vows. The venue is basically a greenhouse with a glass ceiling and acres of gardens. It is also a great place to walk around any day, so go check it out!

Location: Vienna, Virginia

Capacity: Seated Dinner 230 people, 300 people standing

Pro Tip:

Any spot surrounded by lush gardens is beautiful on its own, but that’s no reason to skimp on your centerpieces. The nature of the light-filled space is a blank slate, and so every theme from modern to rustic to gardeny can feel equally at home, picking up on different elements of the venue. We love most of all, though, to see a colorful floral palette brought in, which really pops amongst the backdrop of greenery. A mixture of low and tall arrangements make amazing use of the space, drawing the eye up into the night sky. If your guest count allows for a long king’s table, consider having a continuous elevated piece across the length.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.

A night of mystery and masquerade — and the perfect way to fête the 10th anniversary of The Scout Guide Alexandria and the launch of Vol. 10! ✨

We loved adding our signature touch of floral drama to this year’s launch party at the Hotel Heron. From a moody and dramatic entrance piece to a flower-filled car, sculptural arrangements on cocktail tables and elevated bar arrangements casting feathered shadows and moody textures, this event let us play in a world of whimsy and wonder.

We’re proud to be part of a guide that champions small businesses and celebrates creativity in our community. Supporting local means investing in the makers, doers, and dreamers who make Alexandria vibrant — and The Scout Guide does just that, beautifully. Cheers to Vol. 10! Special thanks to Sarah and Claire for always being so supportive and encouraging.
