A Garden-Inspired Iron Gate Restaurant Wedding
Tucked into a quiet courtyard just off bustling Dupont Circle, the Iron Gate Restaurant served as the perfect backdrop forKimberly and Thomas’s intimate fall celebration. Known for its vine-covered patio, glowing string lights, and historic charm, the Iron Gate offers a warm and romantic setting that feels more like a secret garden than a restaurant in the heart of the city. For this couple, their Iron Gate restaurant wedding was exactly the kind of personal, cozy, and flower-filled space they were dreaming of.
Their floral vision was delicate and organic, with a garden-inspired color palette of mustard, pale yellow, light blue, and soft white. Kimberly carried an elegant, French hand-tied bouquet with a natural shape and an airy softness. Tree peonies in golden yellow were the stars, alongside ivory spray roses, creamy stock, and yellow dahlia. Light blue delphinium and pale blue iris added a gentle, unexpected pop, while dusty miller foliage gave the bouquet a silvery cool edge. Her maid of honor carried a simpler, smaller version of her bouquet.
Following a traditional ceremony at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the couple and their guests moved to the Iron Gate Restaurant for an intimate celebration. Tables were kept simple but impactful. On each long table, three petite compote arrangements created a garden moment down the center. White hydrangea, yellow stock, buttercream roses, and soft blue delphinium mingled with sword fern, dusty miller, and touches of ruscus. The effect was light, textural, and relaxed but still intentional. Much like the couple themselves.
