Intimate Alexandria At Home Wedding

Intimate Alexandria At Home Wedding

When we think of a wedding – whether big or small – a universal element is the desire for the even to be personal and memorable. What is more emblematic of that than an intimate at home wedding. While it is not a choice for everyone, for Virginia and Sam, it was the perfect approach to their nuptials. If you saw their home, you’d understand why! The couple had recently moved into their Virginia residence, and while the house interior was the focus of some renovations, the former owners had been master gardeners who left a lush design of terraced gardens that was to die for.

With the intimate scale of the event, the reception could easily enough take place in the dining room, but the ceremony was more of a challenge. When we visited to determine the flow of the event, we suggested using the natural architectural features of the back of the house, and the princess balcony from the upper level, to create a “broken arch” with an organic style that make the ceremony focal point look as if it grown there. Lush elaeagnus and ruscus foliage provided movement, accompanied by roses, spray roses, and spirea branches. A cascade of greenery and flowers descended from the upper level. The wedding ceremony took place on a small patio area beside a set of French doors.

Virginia’s ensemble had all the romantic vibes, from the lace texture of her gown to her elegant braided updo. And to balance it, we design a cascade bouquet of…

The intimate Virginia home wedding dinner took place at the couple’s dining room table, where a simple garland extended along the length of the table, accented with ivory spray roses and white taper candles in gold candlesticks. It was just the level of elegance that elevated the shared celebration.

Thank you Virginia and Sam for trusting us with your special day! May you have many more memorable memories in your wonderful home.

MOODY ROMANCE ✨ Daryn & Kelsey’s wedding last weekend was the definition of moody romance. A room glowing in candlelight, black linens setting the stage for elevated greenery hedges kissed 💋 with baby’s breath and dreamy hanging glass globes cradling flickering votives. Black and deep plum tapers paired with glass chimneys added a touch of drama, while the sweetheart table gave our couple the place of honor, accented with lush greenery and flowers in soft mauve and blush.

Every detail felt like it was straight out of a modern fairytale. 🖤 🤍 ✨ What’s your favorite part of this stunning set up?
