Strolling down H Street in northeast DC, you might pass an unassuming brick row house behind which resides a quirky art gallery. It was also the site of Katy and Alex’ Gallery O on H wedding. A charming urban oasis, the venue includes both indoor and outdoor event spaces and a multi-level courtyard. It made for a stunning wedding last summer!
The summery, urban garden vibe started with a bold floral palette in shades of coral and peach, bright yellows, and lush greens. Katy’s bouquet featured the most stunning Coral expression garden roses, apricot lisianthus, fresh picked trumpet vine, yellow butterfly ranunculus, solidago and a blush of Cafe au Lait dahlia finished with a dramatic cascade of jasmine. The groom’s boutonniere completed the bride’s bouquet, with petite yellow spray roses on his lapel.
Lush smilax foliage cemented the urban garden vibe, the delicious tendrils of greenery rimming the top edge and cascading naturally down the sides and accented with blooms in romantic corals, yellows, and peaches. Surrounded by the venues potted plants, it really conveyed an enchanted feel. Flowers in wedding colors graced the sign at the entrance to the aisle.
The Gallery O on H wedding reception transformed the outdoor courtyard space, with long farm tables placed along the length of the brick-lined alley. Each of the tables featured a lush garland-style tablescape of greenery and blooms was finished with lanterns and copper mercury glass votives.
The event was magically captured by photographer Erika Layne, including two of our favorites – the couple on the staircase we decorated with smilax and twinkle lights, and the couple in a private moment just seen through the upstairs gallery window. It was such a pleasure to work with Katy and Alex! May you have many years of happiness ahead of you.
