If your floral arrangement was freshly-made bed, stock would be the warm, fluffy down comforter.
Because if we didn’t have corny analogies, we wouldn’t appreciate the good ones quite as much, right? Right, but seriously. Stock really is the fluffy insulation that keeps the rest of your floral arrangement comfortable, fully covered, and all tucked in at night (or during the day, or say… at a wedding sitting on a table, for instance).
If you’re feeling confused, stock is a flower. Really, there’s a flower *called stock*. Not at all like stock photos… And much better than those, too.
Soft, laterally-clustered blooms on a long, hearty stem look that look and smell like (slightly cinnamon-scented!) buttercream frosting squeezed out with the leaf icing tip from the arsenal of a pastry chef. This flower really has a decadence that packs a serious punch in terms of looking like a premium-class flower without really having a premium price.
As if it couldn’t get any better, stock is grown in an array of colors ranging from bright, crisp white (possibly one of the whitest whites available in cut flowers), to the most perfect butter yellow cream, peach, a pretty soft-washed cotton candy pink, deep fuchsia, lavender and even purple. That means added coverage and in the perfect color no matter what your design scheme is! Or the colors of your bedroom, for that matter.
Stock Facts:
Season: Available year-round
Colors: Bright white, creamy/yellow, peach, light pink, medium pink, fuchsia, lavender, and purple
When to Use: Anywhere and everywhere in classic, traditional, or garden styles. Stock is fair game in just about any style of arrangement, but inclusion in minimalist tropical arrangements and the like may be committing a floral foul.
