Hotel Monaco Wedding
It’s not surprising that the Hotel Monaco is one of the most iconic places in Washington, DC to stage a wedding. Bold carpets and a unique modern style contrast with the beautiful marble and classic architecture from the early 1800s. And just down the street from the Portrait Gallery, it makes for an exceptional neighborhood in which to take wedding portraits. All told, the site sets the tone for a magical day. We are fortunate enough to get a Hotel Monaco wedding multiple times a year. While we initially had several on the books for 2020, this was our very last from 2019 – and no less loved for it!
Hotel Monaco Fall Floral Palette
Lauren and Mark loved fall texture and color. When originally meeting with Lauren and her mother, she wanted every fall texture we could add to her floral palette, so we did! The floral palette was filled with: burgundy and blush dahlias, garden roses, astilbe, lisianthus, ranunculus, scabiosa, and stock finished with dusty miller and eucalyptus foliages. The color palette was built upon whites and creams, blushes, rich reds and burgundies, soft grays and dusty greens.
Hotel Monaco Ceremony & Reception
The wedding day coincided with the parade for the Nationals’ World Series win. There was much celebration to go around! As a pet-friendly hotel, there was even an opportunity for a family portrait complete with most favored family member!
Following wedding portraits at the Monaco and environs, the ceremony took place in the ever so elegant Paris ballroom. Pedestals were set on either side of the rotunda, adding to the warm feel of the in-the-round seating. An intimate cocktail reception followed for family and friends, and it was absolutely stunning!
The fall color palette really lent an intimacy to the room, and the soft grays played off the metallic accents of the room decor. Not a detail was forgotten, from floral touches on the welcome sign, an elegant urn to greet guests at the entry table, petite designs on the cocktail tables, larger designs on family tables and of course, flowers for the cake. We wish nothing but the best for these two and their new life together.
