Fairytale Wedding at Celebrations at the Bay

Fairytale Wedding at Celebrations at the Bay

A dream is a wish your heart makes, and despite Covid’s impact on their original plans, this past August Alli and Graham had their fairytale wedding at Celebrations at the Bay. Situated on the water in Pasadena, Maryland, Celebrations at the Bay overlooks the Chesapeake Bay. The tented Vista Ballroom features a parquet floor, elegant chandeliers and a silk-lined ceiling, which complement the wedding with a dream-like, nostalgic tone with a sophisticated edge.

With a palette of soft, pastel hues including baby blue, soft pink, ivories and silver, we helped bring the couple’s vision of a modern day Cinderella fairytale to life – and what a perfect scheme for this pair of Disney fans. Alli’s bouquet featured lush Cafe au Lait dahlia, Keira and White O’Hara garden roses, white lisianthus and touches of dark and light blue delphinium accented with dusty miller foliage. The bridesmaids carries simpler, smaller versions, which contrasted beautifully with their marine blue dresses. It was wonderful to see Alli’s sister Amy, whose wedding we also did two years ago!

As guests arrived for the ceremony, they were immersed in the dream. The domed, wrought iron gazebo at the head of the aisle, with it’s ornate scrolls, evoked Cinderella’s carriage. Pale blue organza drapes created an elegant backdrop, further accented with a valance of pale pink and white roses, spray roses, stock, hydrangea and smilax foliage. Accents of smilax further accented the cinch points of the fabric.

For the reception, centerpieces alternated between three designs. Tall, elevated designs drew the eye up for a touch of drama, each perched atop a glass Pilsner vase with hydrangea, stock, roses, spray roses and delphinium in shades of classic white, soft blue and pale pink. Silver mercury glass bowls centered another third of the tables, each filled with a similar palette and with striking Cafe au Lait dahlia introduced into the mix. And finally, the last third featured petite bud vases with lush blooms positioned around tall glass cylinder vases with floating candles. Creating the true focal point of the room, however, was the sweetheart table ringed in pale pink and white blooms and greens interspersed with glass-enclosed candles.

It was a true pleasure working with Alli and Graham on their fairytale wedding at Celebrations at the Bay. We wish you a magical happily ever after!

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
