Pretty in Pink Wedding at the Fairmont DC

One of our favorite hotel wedding venues in the Washington, DC metro area was transformed into a floral garden last summer. Kitty and Daniel’s pink wedding at the Fairmont DC Hotel was the thing of dreams. We first planned the couple’s wedding for 2020, and as things happened, the event was rescheduled not just once but twice. In that time, the vision only became more clear – so there were benefits to the wait!

The floral palette for Kitty and Daniel’s wedding featured our absolute favorite spring favorites – peonies, ranunculus and so much more! The range of pinks were accented with touches of white for a nod to the classic wedding palette. Think of it as classic with a pop of color! (Or color with a pop of classic?) The pops of hot pink took the feel from timeless to festive. (And can we please have a moment for Kitty’s stunning shoes?!?)

As guests entered the Colonnade room, smilax greenery draped on the columns in the center of the room, creating an instant wow moment. And if that wasn’t enough, lush elevated designs on the head table created a drop dead gorgeous was to frame the couple for the wedding reception!

It was an absolute pleasure creating this beautiful celebration for Kitty and Daniel, our true queen and king of hearts. We wish them the best in their life together!

Mey first reached out by saying she’d loved her sister Iona’s wedding flowers, from the colors, the choices, the way everything held up for days. She wanted something just as thoughtful for her own wedding at 101 Constitution.⁣
⁣
A textured mix of white florals with lush eucalyptus bringing its blue-green hues gave the skyline a quiet elegance of its own. And standing there with that view of the Capitol, it was hard not to feel grateful for the trust families place in us, year after year. It’s an honor every single time.⁣

Laura & Ben`s outdoor ceremony at the Omni Shoreham moved inside at the last moment, and it turned out to be perfect all the same. We built a custom chuppah to frame their nuptials, overlaid with branches and flowers to echo a natural garden arbor. Swipe to see more of what made this one of our favorite spring weddings! Laura & Ben's outdoor ceremony at the Omni Shoreham moved inside at the last moment, and it turned out to be perfect all the same. Too early? I confess. I’m a Thanksgiving purist. It’s literally my favorite holiday. But as a floral designer, I’m often living a season ahead. Thinking of spring when it’s winter, or fall in the heat of summer. And yes, plotting winter holiday decor when it’s Halloween (if not the 4th of July!)

But something about the quiet in the air today and news of snow in places nearby is all it took to awaken my holiday spirit and launch holiday planning mode! If it takes you more to get you in the mood, maybe Sonja & Mike’s Christmas wedding from a few years ago will do the trick!

There’s a reason the garden aesthetic endures. Sydney & Adam’s Omni Shoreham wedding proved that abundance doesn’t mean excess. It’s about balance. Layers of red, peach, and champagne tones brought warmth to the Palladian Room’s formality, while trailing jasmine and geranium softened its edges.⁣
⁣
We often talk about ‘garden style’ as if it’s effortless, but true ease comes from intention, that blend of movement, proportion, restraint. Here, that translated into florals that felt alive within the space, grounded yet romantic.⁣
A study in color, texture, and timing. The kind of classic that never fades.⁣
