Dockmaster Building Wedding

Dockmaster Building Wedding

Our Washingtonian “cover couple”! It was a nautical dream for Claire and Sean at their Dockmaster Building wedding. With a fun, beautiful touch of nautical charm, this celebration radiated elegance. We were honored to create floral masterpieces for this remarkable event, creating a whimsical world of blue and white hues, lush greenery, and the joyous moments that unfolded throughout this Dockmaster’s Building wedding.

The centerpiece of any bride’s ensemble is her bouquet, and Claire’s was a true vision of elegance. Our exquisite, hand-tied cascade bouquet in classic whites and greens, with delicate touches of blue, perfectly complemented her beauty and the nautical theme. Imagine a graceful composition of pristine white roses and mini-calla lilies, adorned with light blue tweedia, delphinium, and ruscus foliage. Cascading accents of white phalaenopsis orchids added an ethereal charm to this stunning symbol of love and sophistication, wrapped in ivory double-faced satin ribbon.

To match the bride’s timeless elegance, the bridesmaids carried French hand-tied bouquets. These smaller versions of the bridal bouquet featured lush white roses and lisianthus, complemented by the verdant beauty of eucalyptus foliage. Tied together with champagne satin ribbon, these bouquets added refined simplicity to the bridal party’s ensemble, reflecting the Dockmaster’s Building wedding’s luxurious ambiance.

The ceremony space was transformed into a haven of romance and nautical charm, highlighting the Dockmaster’s Building’s window-lined atmosphere. A rich, dark wood frame served as the backdrop, enhanced by an exquisite asymmetrical garland featuring smilax and eucalyptus foliage intertwined with hydrangeas in shades of blue, white stock, and ivory spray roses. The garland gracefully draped from the midpoint of the front valance, cascading down the right side and reaching down to the floor. The ceremony focal point was a breathtaking display of natural beauty that perfectly suited the nautical theme of the day. To guide the bride’s path down the aisle, delicate silk rose petals were scattered along its length, symbolically marking the start of her journey towards a lifetime of love and happiness at the Dockmaster’s Building.

Even the bar area received a touch of floral elegance, elevating the entire wedding experience. An organic and loose asymmetrical design, embracing the wedding colors, adorned the bar. Each design showcased white stock, roses and spray roses, light blue delphinium, blue thistle, and white larkspur. The addition of Italian ruscus and salal foliage added texture and depth, creating a captivating focal point for guests to admire while enjoying their favorite libations at the Dockmaster’s Building wedding.

No luxurious wedding is complete without exquisite tablescapes, and Claire and Sean’s celebration was no exception. The tables alternated between three magnificent designs, each radiating opulence and sophistication. The first design featured tall, pilsner glass vases topped with lush, rounded arrangements. Picture a captivating combination of white hydrangeas, stock, ivory roses and spray roses, and delicate light blue delphinium. Lemon leaf and ruscus foliage completed this stunning display, evoking a sense of grandeur and romance at the Dockmaster’s Building. Centered on other tables were stone Newport pots brimming with floral perfection. These arrangements boasted an enchanting mix of white hydrangeas, stock, roses, light blue tweedia, blue thistle, and white lisianthus. The addition of myrtle and eucalyptus foliage provided a touch of elegance and a nod to the lush surroundings, adding an extra layer of sophistication to the Dockmaster’s Building wedding. And finally, gold-rimmed lanterns adorned with delicate bud vases added a touch of whimsy and sophistication to the last set of tables. These carefully arranged blooms created a harmonious fusion of color and texture, captivating guests as they dined and celebrated into the night, immersing themselves in the luxury and beauty of the Dockmaster’s Building wedding.

Claire and Sean’s wedding at the Dockmaster’s Building was a true nautical dream come to life. With a color palette of blue and white, accented by lush greenery, every floral element was carefully crafted to reflect elegance, joy, and luxury. From the breathtaking bridal bouquet to the romantic ceremony arch and the captivating table designs, the floral arrangements brought a touch of natural beauty and charm to this extraordinary celebration. It was an honor to be part of this magical day at the Dockmaster’s Building, and we extend our warmest wishes to Claire and Sean for a lifetime of happiness, adventure, and love as they embark on their journey together.

It was an absolutely perfect day and the florals were WOW! Our wedding day was executed beautifully. – Claire

We are back at Woodend this coming week, and it has us reminiscing about Amanda and Jack’s whimsical, wonderful, William Morris-inspired dream of a wedding with an Art Nouveau twist. The wedding layered bohemian textures, vintage details, woodland creatures and, of course, romantic blooms into a palette that felt both grounded and poetic. Think climbing vines, golden light, and flowers that felt like they had stepped out of an heirloom wallpaper print - in the best way. We’re still swooning. 💫

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.
