Located at 1776 D St., NW, within walking distance fo the White House, the headquarters of the Daughters of the American Revolution offers an array of stunning spaces that can be used for a wedding ceremony and reception.

About

Commonly known as DAR, the venue features the headquarters offices, a museum, and library. The most popular space, the O’Byrne Gallery, features a barreled ceiling, a herringbone hardwood floor, and original rams-head sconces. The adjacent Portico offers breathtaking views of the Washington monument.

Location: Adjacent to the Ellipse

Capacity:

O’Byrne Gallery – 140 seated

Library – 130 seated

Constitution Hall lobby – 700 seated

Pro Tips

Color in any palette – even greenery! – really pops in the O’Byrne Gallery. For dinner’s in the library, embrace the table lamps (which don’t move!). DAR is not necessarily a small space, but it isn’t an expansive one either. If your guest list permits, create a long table along the center with tall arrangements to take advantage of the height. Talk about maximum drama AND maximum intimacy!

Scenes from holiday pasts and present. While December tends to be a low volume time for weddings, we love the range of things we have gotten to do, from inviting the community into our studio for wreath workshops to helping businesses and hotels decorate with garland, trees and more for the holidays. Do you have a favorite way to decorate?

We will be closing soon for a much needed holiday break. See you in the new year!

MOODY ROMANCE ✨ Daryn & Kelsey’s wedding last weekend was the definition of moody romance. A room glowing in candlelight, black linens setting the stage for elevated greenery hedges kissed 💋 with baby’s breath and dreamy hanging glass globes cradling flickering votives. Black and deep plum tapers paired with glass chimneys added a touch of drama, while the sweetheart table gave our couple the place of honor, accented with lush greenery and flowers in soft mauve and blush.

Every detail felt like it was straight out of a modern fairytale. 🖤 🤍 ✨ What’s your favorite part of this stunning set up?
