If ever a wedding expressed classic elegance, it would be this one. With a great vendor team, gorgeous photographs by Kate Grace Photography, and a beautiful historic venue, how could you possibly go wrong with a DACOR Bacon House wedding? Weather is always unpredictable, and you never know what spring in DC will bring. The day can easily be cool and rainy or full of sunshine and a light breeze. Kirsten and Christopher really lucked out with a perfect spring day. We were honored to play a role in making their DACOR Bacon House wedding day picture perfect.

Located at 1801 F St., NW in Washington, DC, the DACOR Bacon House is one of the few remaining examples of Federal period residential architecture that remains in the neighborhood of the White House. Formerly known as the Ringgold Carroll House, it was adapted from a historic home to a private club and office space for the Diplomatic and Consular Officers, Retired (DACOR) and the DACOR-Bacon House Foundation, which was established to provide in perpetuity a venue for statesmanship and international dialogue. The four story Georgian mansion has a history of weddings, having hosted President and Mrs. Lincoln as guests for the nuptials of Miss Sally Carroll and Captain Charles Griffin.

Kirsten and Christopher’s aesthetic was classic, elegant and timeless. Each element flowed together seamlessly for their DACOR Bacon House wedding, from bouquets to lush ceremony altar arrangements to the reception. The bouquet featured garden roses and ranunculus in shades of white and cream with pops of light blue tweedia, green hellebores and touches of magnolia and Italian ruscus. While cocktail hour frequently take a backseat for the day, a stunning gold set of shelves welcomes guests to the outdoor area, along with an elegant design of white cherry blossom branches.

Inside of the ballroom, centerpieces in gold compotes were overflowing with garden roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, spray roses, hellebores, magnolia and eucalyptus. Votives provided a touch of candlelight. Completing the table, a sprig of Italian ruscus completed each place setting.

Congratulations to Kirsten and Christopher on your DACOR Bacon House wedding. We wish you a lifetime full of happiness together!

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
