The past year has seen a resurgence in the popularity in wedding designs using baby’s breath – that oft banished bloom. But for this winter wedding at the Conrad Hotel in Washington, DC, baby’s breath took center stage. It was the perfect wintry touch for Doris and Sokhar’s nuptials!
Snowy winter inspiration was a key part of the couple’s vision. With words like modern, classic chic and simple to guide us, we created a unique winter wedding for our lovely couple. Doris’ bridal bouquet featured fluffy white peonies, garden roses and ranunculus accented with dusty miller and wisps of lavender limonium, while her bridesmaids carries lavender rose-focused bouquets.
Providing the perfect modern backdrop for the ceremony, we created a deconstructed arch of baby’s breath. The clouds of gypsophila were accented with lavender roses, pampas grass, and scabiosa pods, for an earthy twist to this ethereal design. Situated beneath the Conrad’s ‘Falling Flowers’ installation of hand-blown glass plates, the effect was magical.
Evenly spaced through the reception ballroom were two gorgeous styles of centerpieces. The variety of tall and low designs created movement throughout the room. In keeping with the winter feel, we opted for silver-hued dusty miller as the foliage base. The floral recipe brought together classic blooms as white hydrangea, lavender roses, white stock, and white lisianthus.
Congratulations to our lovely couple, Doris and Sokhar! And thank you for trusting us to create this wintry design for you and your guests!
