It’s been the year of best laid plans, hasn’t it? Danyel and Jeff had initially planned their wedding to take place at the Josephine Butler Parks Center, but COVID put a dent in both their wedding AND life plans! Circumstances forced a move to another city, and so to make the best of things, they got married in their beloved DC before making their move. While far from plan A, their colorful DC War Memorial wedding was unique and memorable.

Danyel and Jeff’s wedding was one for the books, in my opinion, with some of the most perfect florals. Their vibrant color palette was filled with bright pinks, bold purples and yellows. Danyel’s bouquet was absolutely breathtaking! We designed the bouquet using purple and hot pink vanda orchids, hot pink garden roses, purple lisianthus, and yellow snapdragons with a touch of ivory spray roses and finished with Israeli and Italian ruscus foliage. Her bouquet was perfectly complemented with a delicate hair comb. Jeff’s boutonniere featured ivory spray roses. The flower gods truly sent us the most beautiful flowers for their colorful DC War Memorial wedding.

Located on the Mall, the DC War Memorial commemorates the citizens of the District of Columbia who served in World War I. The intimate domed structure was the site of Danyel and Jeff’s colorful summer nuptials. Against a backdrop of classic urn arrangements on graduated pedestals, they recited their vows in front of their nearest and dearest. Did you know that in DC couples can officiate their own ceremony? That’s exactly what Danyel and Jeff did.

No wedding is completely without cake! To celebrate following their vows, a delightful bar cart was set up with cake and champagne. A colorful arrangement was placed on the lower tier. Danyel and Jeff – we loved making lemonade out of lemons and creating a beautiful & fun wedding! Thanks for including us in your most special day.

What goes up, must come down. Our team spent a solid week of getting up on ladders, hanging wreaths, fluffing garland, and placing oversized bows to get nine local restaurants holiday ready… and now it ends. Every garland gets boxed and labeled. Every ornament tucked back in its place and each wreath finding a new home - until next year. It seems almost sad to put away the holiday decor, but ready for the next bit of sparkle & shine!
