Summer Anderson House Wedding

How can you go wrong with an incomparable Beaux Arts masterpiece as the backdrop for a gorgeous summer wedding. Frances and Michael’s Anderson House, Washington, DC wedding was a wonderful celebration of love in a breathtakingly elegant setting. After their ceremony at Georgetown University’s Dahlgren Chapel, the happy couple and their guests moved on to the elegant reception – and we were thrilled to be part of it!

For Frances’ beautiful bridal bouquet, we embraced romantic tones of blush and white, with a mix of Juliet garden roses and peach spray roses accented with a variety of white blooms including stock, lisianthus, astilbe and tuberose. Keeping with that same subtle and soft palette, we created hand-tied bridesmaids’ bouquets of ivory Vendela roses, wrapped with pale pink ribbon that complemented the wedding party’s delicate pink dresses. For Michael, we created a simple and sophisticated boutonniere of tuberose.

Anderson House weddings are always striking, and Frances and Michael’s was no exception! The beautiful ivory linens, gold Chivari chairs, and exquisite architecture throughout the venue gave us the perfect backdrop for the reception flowers. As guests arrived, they were greeted by an escort table topped with a simple arrangement of peach and white gladiola, displayed in a glass cylinder vase Guest tables featured low arrangements evoking the style and colors of Frances’ bouquet. White hydrangea, white lisianthus, white astilble peach Ociana roses, peach spray roses, peach stock, and touches of tuberose brought a variety of textures to the tablescape. Frances’ and Michael’s reception also featured a long king’s table, which we adorned with a lush garland of lemon leaf foliage. accented with peach Ociana roses, ivory spray roses, peach stock, white lisianthus and white astilbe. The evening ended on a sweet note, with the couple’s spectacular wedding cake festooned with even more floral accents in peach and white.

Providing Frances and Michael’s wedding flowers was a privilege, and we wish them nothing but happiness!

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
