The Alexandrian Hotel Wedding

The Alexandrian Hotel wedding florist bouquet

Being local to Alexandria, we do so many weddings at The Alexandrian Hotel that we may as well be The Alexandrian Hotel florist! But this wedding… Joy! Never was a bride so aptly named, and you can see the unbridled (heh) glee on Joy and Rich’s faces on the day of their wedding. The palette of burgundy and cream was never so seasonally appropriate. Joy carried a stunning bouquet in burgundy and cream tones set off with touches of sage green. The bouquet featured burgundy dahlias, spray roses, scabiosa, Black Magic roses accented with cream stock, champagne Sahara roses, and finally finished with seeded eucalyptus. Rich’s boutonniere featured a burgundy rose from Joy’s bouquet accented with seeded eucalyptus.

The ceremony took place in The Alexandrian Hotel’s courtyard. The couple was flanked by two elegant, wrought iron stands featuring modern designs of red James Storei and mokara orchids, burgundy snapdragons and gladiola accented with cream stock, and for a rustic finish, tall curly willow branches and seeded eucalyptus foliage.

Guests found their escort cards at a garland-rimmed table backed with a line of floating candles in stemmed, glass containers. The tables featured a mix of two complementary designs in either black footed bowls or a mix of footed black urns. Each container was filled with a richly textured design of antique green hydrangea, burgundy dahlia, roses, spray roses and scabiosa, cream stock, champagne roses, and touches of seeded eucalyptus. The sweetheart table was finished with a garland accented with wedding flowers, similar to the escort card table design.

A rooftop celebration that proves timeless can still be bold. For Elaine & Trey’s wedding at Capitol View at 400, we leaned into classic green and white, but elevated it with sculptural greenery installations, gold Harlow stands, and skyline views that stretched for miles. A ceiling of foliage softened the tented space, while sleek black bridesmaid dresses added contrast and edge. Clean, refined, and impossibly romantic.

It’s Bike to Work Day — and while we usually pedal toward petals, we couldn’t resist sharing this creative twist from Elle & Bryan, one of our couples who wheeled their love of cycling straight into the ceremony. 🚲✨

Elle & Bryan’s wedding at Dumbarton House was full of charm, personal touches, and one especially fun nod to their love of cycling. Bicycle wheels became sculptural backdrops, proving that when it comes to personal touches, there’s no such thing as too niche.

Designing florals around unexpected objects? That’s our lane. And yes — it was all uphill in the best possible way.
