Iona and Eric’s mini wedding at DACOR Bacon House embraced a bright, joyful palette that felt like a breath of fresh air. Set within the historic mansion in Washington, DC, the celebration balanced the intimacy of the space with a sense of color and movement that carried throughout the day.
The DACOR Bacon House in Washington, DC, is known for its classic architecture and private garden, offering couples a setting that feels warm and personal rather than grand in scale. It’s the kind of venue where an intimate wedding unfolds naturally, moving from ceremony to cocktails to dinner across a series of beautifully layered spaces.
The ceremony design leaned fully into that sense of place. A deconstructed floral arch created an organic focal point, designed in golden tones with touches of blue and white. Solidago, cremon, roses, and spray roses brought warmth and fullness, while delphinium added softness and lift. Magnolia foliage grounded the palette with a deep green contrast, giving the design both richness and structure. Urns added height and presence, framing the ceremony in a way that felt intentional but still relaxed.
Floral moments extended beyond the ceremony. Ground pieces placed along the staircase created a sense of continuity, guiding guests through the house and connecting each part of the celebration. These details made the entire experience feel cohesive and considered.
For the reception, centerpieces carried the same color story onto the tables, scaled for an intimate dinner. The arrangements added texture and vibrancy without overwhelming conversation, allowing the setting to remain the focus.
This wedding at DACOR Bacon House is a reminder that smaller celebrations don’t mean scaling back on design. When done thoughtfully, they create space for details to shine, for color to feel intentional, and for the entire day to feel both personal and complete.
