Elizabeth and Jared’s December wedding was the perfect example of why we love winter weddings! Both ceremony and reception, held at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, was filled with warm shades of light pink and gold, candlelight and – since we stayed through to serve as day-of coordinator – we also got to see how much it was filled with the love of their family and friends.
Elizabeth’s gorgeous bouquet was filled with blush pink garden roses and mini callas, as well as white ranunculus, spray roses, stock and lisianthus. Touches of gold painted pepper berries added a unique texture and gold touch to the bouquet, a coordinating touch also incorporated into the groom’s boutonniere. The bridesmaids carried textured bouquets of all white and ivory flowers.
For the ceremony, a modern backdrop of garlands blush pink dendrobium orchid blossoms were interspersed with delicate hanging votives candles. A bank of ivory pillar candles flanked the entrance to the aisle, adding a warm glow to the festivities.
Decorating the place card table, and later the favor and dessert table, was a gold manzanita branch stemming from a bed of light pink and white hydrangea, roses, stock and seeded eucalyptus, accented with gold pepper berries. Crystals and candles hung from the branches, adding a warm, wintery touch.
Matching centerpieces were set in gold ceramic cubes, adding a modern touch to the lush textures of the flowers. We loved how the all of the gold touches, from the linens, to the table names to the placesettings, really enhanced the decor of the museum, and warmed the chilly December evening. Elizabeth and Jared are huge fans of bagels and coffee, so their favors and table names all included coffee and bagel types.
Hands down our favorite part was the special nacho cheese fountain requested by the bride. We learned during the course of the planning that apparently the idea of having a nacho cheese fountain at her wedding was something Elizabeth had been planning long before she even met Jared. We loved how Windows Catering was able to make that happen for her!
