George Washington Masonic Memorial wedding

Do you ever drive around Alexandria and notice that really tall building at the head of Old Town just across from the King Street train and metro station? It is the George Washington Masonic Memorial and site of Christine and Shawn’s spring wedding. A romantic palette of peaches, pinks, white and champagnes presided over the color scheme, all softness and light. Christine’s bouquet featured Juliet garden roses, light pink peonies, white ranunculus and stock, ivory spray roses, and champagne Sahara roses. Shawn’s boutonniere featured a petite white ranunculus blossom accented with bear grass.

We loved how the soft colors of the flowers were played up by the bridesmaids’ dresses and the punch of color in their shawls. The bouquets featured roses, spray roses, ranunculus and stock in peaches, light pinks and champagnes.

As befits a George Washington Masonic Memorial wedding, the ceremony took place in the North Lodge, a room anchored at the far side with a stately red curtain. Wrought iron stands flanked the couple, each holding tall pink and white cherry blossom branches, sprays of pink and white larkspur, snapdragons, stock and dendrobium orchids for fullness and color. We love how the branches look framing Christine during the ceremony.

The reception took place in the Grand Masonic Hall, a space lined by dramatic columns on either side and a mural with a bust of George Washington at the far end. (You can see how the ceremony flowers were repurposed to flank the entrance to the ballroom as Christine and Shawn make their entrance.) Simple bud vases of wedding flowers in pinks were designed for the cocktail tables. For the dining tables, an elegant, glass footed bowl was filled with a lush design of light pink hydrangea, peach stock, pink lisianthus, ivory spray roses, champagne roses and light pink ranunculus. Finishing the room, glass-enclosed pillar candles provided a romantic candle lit glow on the balance of the tables.

Love in full bloom - rain and all ☔️ ✨

Tamari & Zach embraced the romance of a rainy day ceremony at the historic Tudor Place, saying “I do” beneath clear umbrellas. Then they celebrated in the cozy, intimate setting of the Tabard Inn - with a warm floral palette of corals and oranges, the dreamiest Cafe au Lait dahlias, and proof that a little rain only adds to the magic.

G is for greenery 🌿, L is for lush ✨… you get the idea!

When it comes to statement-making florals, a well-placed garland can do it all—elevate long tables, frame a ceremony aisle, or even drape around a fountain for that effortlessly chic look. Who said greenery was just filler? 💅

Industrial spaces have a beauty of their own, but the right floral design can take them from warehouse to urban garden. 🌿✨

For Laura & Michael’s Dock 5 wedding, we played with scale—tall magnolia branches to emphasize the height, lush florals to soften the space, and candlelight to add warmth. The result? An urban oasis that felt both grand and intimate.

1️⃣Go Big with Greenery – Tall magnolia branches brought height and movement to Laura & Michael’s Dock 5 wedding

2️⃣ Mix Textures – Lush, low floral arrangements softened the industrial edges while keeping the space dynamic

3️⃣ Layer Candlelight – Warm glows + metal details = a romantic urban oasis

4️⃣ Frame Key Spaces – A floral garland on the head table grounded the design and added intimacy. Trees flanking the table took it to the next level

5️⃣ Contrast is Key – Pairing the raw, industrial elements with soft florals and organic details created the perfect balance
