That loose, romantic garden look that is all the rage now was completely embraced by Sydney and Adam’s wedding last July at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. The wedding color palette of red, ivory, peachy-champagnes and gold was at once warm, sensuous, romantic and light. Accordingly, the bridal bouquet featured red Piano garden roses, champagne and ivory roses, burgundy dahlia, red spray roses, peach hypericum berries, burgundy scabiosa and the lush greens of geranium leaf, olive leaf and jasmine vine. The bridesmaids carried slightly smaller, simpler bouquets of similar flowers. The groom’s boutonniere was designed using a simple champagne rose accented with red hypericum berries and olive leaf, while the remaining boutonnieres incorporated red roses and olive leaf.

The ceremony took place at the gazebo on the Omni Shoreham’s grounds. Red rose petals lined both sides of the aisle, creating a lovely framed walkway for the wedding ceremony.

The covering on the frame was designed using past bridal gowns from the couple’s family. We further accented the asymmetrical design with a lush posy of red hydrangea, peach stock, champagne roses, burgundy dahlia, ed spray roses, and peach hypericum berries with loose touches of geranium leaf, seeded eucalyptus and jasmine vine complementing the design with texture. Chair posies of roses, spray roses, geranium and olive leaf lined both sides of the aisle on every other row.

The wedding reception took place in the Palladian Room, with a mix of tall and low centerpiece designs complementing the grandness of the room.

Low wedding centerpieces were created using a classic garden urn filled with a hydrangea, stock, roses, spray roses, dahlia, berries, scabiosa and artichokes in shades of red, peach and champagne accented with geranium and olive leaf. The tall designs were elevated on a cathedral candle stand. Lush rounded arrangements of antique green hydrangea, peach stock and hypericum berries, champagne roses, burgundy dahlia, and red roses and orchids were finished with burgundy hanging amaranthus to lend an old world feel to the design.

One thing we find especially lovely about our wedding blog this time of year is that just as it is getting precipitously cold outside – and we’re talking freeze your face off cold! – we get to cast our memories to warmer times and warm weather weddings. Amanda and David’s wedding this past June at the Omni Shoreham hotel is no exception! Their wedding flowers featured a lush, garden palette of greens, pale pinks, and whites accented with pops of orange for a casual, organic look. Amanda’s bridal bouquet featured a loose and textured design created with white peonies, veronica and Queen Anne’s lace, peach Juliet garden roses and orange pin cushion protea rounded out with an array of greenery – silver dollar eucalyptus and camellia foliage with jasmine vine loosely draping and spilling away for a natural and organic look. The bridesmaids’ bouquets similarly featured a lush mix of greens accented with delicate touches of white veronica, spray roses and Queen Anne’s lace for a more neutral color scheme of green and white. The groom’s boutonniere featured a peach garden rose accented with silver dollar eucalyptus while the groomsmen’s boutonnieres were designed with a clutch of mixed greens – both finished with a rustic twine wrap.

The wedding ceremony took place on the lawn at the Omni Shoreham, with the stately gazebo serving as the focal point. The two front pillars of the gazebo were wrapped with a lush garland of three different eucalyptus foliages accented with lemon leaf.

Guests were greeted for the wedding reception by an elegant glass trumpet vase on the escort card table. The vase was filled with a dramatic design of tall curly willow branches, white open-cut callas, gladiola, snapdragons and larkspur accented with loose greenery for texture and movement. The tables alternated between two casual and organic wedding centerpiece designs. Half of the tables featured a dark-stained wood box filled with a richly textured design of antique green hydrangea, loose mixed greens, and delicate white flowers such as veronica and Queen Anne’s lace accented with orange freesia for a pop of orange. The remainder of the wedding centerpieces featured a tablescape of pillar and floating candles seated in a bed of moss, curly willow, and loose greens accented withs succulents and garden roses. The wedding cake featured a design of small green succulents strategically placed on the cake.

The Omni’s garden is a truly beautiful space for a wedding ceremony made even more gorgeous when the weather is perfect.  This elegant fall wedding was inspired by the luxe style of the 1920’s and The Great Gatsby. Shades of burgundy, eggplant, champagne and sage green were used throughout the flowers.  Accents of pearls and gold added to the theme.

The bride’s bouquet featured eggplant calla lilies, Black Magic roses, burgundy dahlias, accented with champagne toned roses and seeded eucalyptus. Large pearl pins finished with bouquet and kept with the theme. For the bridesmaids, a bit of cream colored stock was added to the mix to give theirs an overall lighter feel.

The ceremony featured a simple chuppah erected in front of the Omni’s classic gazebo. Elegant posies of dahlias, roses and stock in shades of cream, champagne and burgundy accented with seeded eucalyptus draped from the top front corners of the structure.

The table centerpieces featured a striking mix of high and low styles, with the tall centerpieces adding antique green hydrangea to the mix of burgundy, eggplant and champagne roses and dahlias. Pearls were draped elegantly around the base of the flowers to add to the 1920’s theme. Low centerpieces in gold gold containers finished the dramatic look. A can’t miss? That cake from Fancy Cakes by Leslie. Just completes the look of the day!

The Omni Shoreham Hotel is such a gem in Washington. Overlooking Rock Creek Park, the hotel boasts not only a grand interior, but the gardens are a stunning oasis of flowering gardens and a gazebo that overlooks the wooded park.

Laura and Ben’s wedding at the Omni early may wedding featured a classic palette of whites alternated with rich shades of purple and blue.  Laura’s bouquet featured a spring mix of white lilac, peonies, ranunculus and anemone, while her groom sported a matching boutonniere of white ranunculus.

Last minute threats of rain forced the ceremony indoors into the Ambassador Ballroom, but the festivity was not compromised in the least.  Laura and Ben were married beneath a garden-inspired chuppah featuring an overlay of curly willow branches tucked with purple larkspur, lavender roses and stock, and touches of light blue delphinium.  Purple lilac draping from the top creating the feel of wisteria vines.

Cocktails in the Palladian Room preceded the reception in the Empire Ballroom.  For the escort card table, a silver urn was centered atop a patterns gray linen and filled with a design of purple and lavender larkspur and stock accented with light blue delphinium.

Atop gray linens, round tables featured a glass footed bowl with a rich, garden arrangement of white hydrangea purple stock, ivory roses, and plum ranunculus accented with lavender and purple sweet pea and tulips.  Cylinder vases with floating candles completed the design.

For the longer rectangle tables, a rich garden design of white hydrangea, stock, roses and ranunculus accented with lavender sweet pea filled a mix of glassware, including glass rectangle vases of varying heights and small compote bowls extended along the length of the table.  Stemmed votives with floating candles added a romantic touch of candlelight.
