We are so excited to Marina and Kosta’s stunning wedding featured in the Spring / Summer 2017 The Knot magazine! The wedding was stunning, from the lush bouquets to the reception decor rich with greens for a natural and unstructured, garden touch.
It is that time of year for giving thanks. We are thankful for all of couples and their families who have entrusted us with their flowers and in some cases with the planning and logistics for their day this year. We are thankful for the wholesalers and suppliers who help us to do our job well. We are thankful for the professional community of which we are part and without whose collaboration we would not be successful. And last but not least, we are thankful for our colleagues’ esteem and votes which have allowed us again to make the Washingtonian Bride & Groom list of “bests” for 2016!
Congratulations also to our friends and colleagues who have made the list this year!
This past February, we began a small series of winter workshops, each class with a different focus. The first in the series focused on building a terrarium, and we are elated that the class has now been featured on United With Love as possible DIY project! Some of our favorite pics from the class are included below, but be sure to check out the post.
Best of all, if you have fallen in love with these mini self-contained gardens and want to build one yourself, join us for another class on Monday, April 6 at 6:30 pm! We will provide all containers, supplies, and plant materials. Email email@example.com or call 703.518.8488 to register.
We are extremely proud to share that our very own designer Megan Norgan was named the People’s Choice award winner at Potomac Floral Wholesale’s annual design competition on Sunday, March 15! A local wholesaler, Potomac hosts an annual flower show which, in addition to showcasing new products from growers and vendors, features a design competition.
This year’s theme was a “Cascading Bouquet for a Princess”. The challenge included the following restrictions: 1. Must be designed in a bouquet holder. 2. 36″x36″x48″ height restriction. 3. Wholesale cost of flowers not to exceed $150. 4. Not additional props allowed.
The bouquet featured a mix of flowers that was both soft and romantic as well as earthy and fanciful. A bouquet suited for a fairy princess! The design featured blush pink ranunculus, white anemone, white scabiosa, blush pink garden roses, blush pink tulips, artichokes, silver dollar eucalyptus and bay leaf foliage, the latter also fashioned into a garland for a cascade.
Congratulations to Megan and her beautiful bouquet!

As we round to close our 10th year in business, we give special thanks for all of our current couples, clients whose events have passed, and the professional colleagues we continue to see each year. And so we can add to this list our appreciation for the honor of being chosen by our peers as one of the best wedding professionals in the DC area! Thanks to Washingtonian Bride & Groom for including us on the list of best wedding vendors 2015, and congratulations to the many vendors with whom we love to work as well!
We recently had the pleasure of talking with the folks at Bloompop about our studio’s beginnings, getting started in the industry, and trends to watch in floral design. We’ve been working with Bloompop as one of their partners since the start of the project to bring artisan flowers and support local florists. See more of the interview here!
We are delighted to see Sarah and Aaron’s adorable spring ceremony and reception featured on United With Love! With a palette of peaches, corals, and oranges accented with gray, the bouquet flowers included an array of romantically textured garden roses, roses, spray roses, stock and ranunculus accented with dusty miller. Some of our favorite photos are included below. We loved in particular how both the bridesmaids and grooms women both carried the same bouquets!
